Annual Lodge Clean-Up
Your lodge cleaning crew is making a plea for help in giving our meeting place at the KofC hall the annual extra special cleaning.  This is in addition to the regular cleaning done each month during the year prior to our monthly meeting.  We would be very grateful to anyone who could help do the extra cleaning chores done once a year.  The date to do this job is Friday, August 29. Our extra work usually includes doing the kitchen, windows, restrooms, etc in addition to stripping and waxing the floors.  Any amount of time that you can spare to help this day, even if only an hour or so, is deeply appreciated.  If you can spare any time at all, for what we make an enjoyable social activity, please let us know at dmjcs at cox.net or 703/978-8499.

There is now a new page on the web site, "Phrases",  reachable with the tabs above.  The web site and the Newsletter will carry a new Italian phrase each month.  We wish to thank Lodge Member Carlo Mignani for supplying the phrases each month.  Check the Newsletter and the web site every month for the new phrase.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2008, the President signed S. 254 into law.

Seven-Day All-Inclusive Tour of Ancient Sicily
OSIA National is promoting trips to Sicily through Unitours.   John DiBella of the George Washington Lodge, volunteered to organize a group from all the Virginia OSIA lodges for the tour starting March 10, 2009.  These all-inclusive tours start at less than $2000.  You can read details in the current issue of OSIA’s Italian America magazine, winter 2008, pages 14-16.
